In building out the Iris brand, we took the existing logo and color palette, and expanded it with a system of linework and other elements to add depth, personality, and a needed dose of technological flair to this Smart Home system brand. 

The linework system comes to life in the packaging, where each component is embellished its own unique pattern, abstractly depicting its role in the Iris ecosystem. While these patterns on component boxes are all radial or parallel, the packs, depicted in blue, feature intersecting patterns, suggesting the way the components all work together. This linework was coated in a spot varnish, giving it a distinct sheen on the shelf and a subtle texture.

The Iris website strikes a balance between appealing to new smart home customers in need of an educational tour of the technology, and conveying the near limitless potential of the system to more savvy customers by displaying possible programmable formulas and the long list of compatible 3rd party products.
